Program Objectives
This program is designed to prepare cultivation of the top-ranking professionals and innovative talents who have good scientific and humanistic literacy, healthy physical and mental quality, acquire knowledge about new energy science and engineering, track new energy international cutting-edge development, and have the ability of research and design, engineering practice, team cooperation, organizational management, as well as innovation, and who are able to engage in scientific research, technology development, engineering design and management in the field of new energy science and engineering.
Learning Outcomes
Students of this degree will acquire:
- Graduates should be able to solve complex engineering problems with mathematics, natural science, and engineering basics and professional knowledge.
- Graduates should be able to apply the basic principles of mathematics, natural science and engineering science to identify, express, and analyze complex engineering problems through literature research to obtain effective conclusions.
- The students should be able to provide solutions of complex problems in the fields of energy and power engineering, they should also be able to design energy power systems, components and technological process. Such designs should include innovations, as well as multiple factors related to the fields of society, health, safety, regulation, culture and environment.
- Based on the scientific principles and methodologies, students should be able to investigate complex problems existed in the areas of energy and power engineering. Such investigation includes the design of experiment, the analysis of data, and the summary of effective conclusions via comprehensive information.
- The students should be able to develop, select and utilize appropriate techniques, resources, advanced engineering and information tools to analyze complex energy and power engineering problems. The analysis includes prediction and simulation, with the awareness of the limitations.
- Based on the background and fundamentals, the students should be able to appropriately analyze and estimate the impacts caused by the proposed solution (related to the energy and power engineering) in the aspects of society, health, safety, laws and culture, they should also be aware of the responsibility they would undertake.
- The students should be able to understand and evaluate the impacts of practical engineering (related to the energy and power engineering) on the sustainable development of environment and society.
- The students should be qualified with humanities and social sciences literacy, as well as the social responsibility, they should also be able to understand and strictly follow the professional ethics and regulations, fulfill their responsibility.
- The students should be able to take part in any multidisciplinary team and demonstrate
- Related to complex engineering problems, the students should be able to communicate effectively with industry peers and the public, including the preparation of reports and designs, the presentation, the logistic expressions and responses. The students should also be possessed of international attitude, which helps the worldwide, cross-cultural communications.
- Graduates should be able to understand and master engineering management principles and economic decision-making methods, and can use these methods in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Graduates should have the awareness of self-directed learning and lifelong education, and have the ability to continuously learn and adapt to development.
Program Highlights
Based on energy, materials and environmental engineering, combining science of new energy and heat fluid, this program aims at cultivating international and inter-disciplinary talents with a solid foundation of knowledge, innovative spirit, as well as application and management skills.
