Erasmus+ Scholarship for Traineeship in Switzerland or the United Kingdom

The Erasmus+ scholarship program allows students to undertake a traineeship in Switzerland or the United Kingdom. To qualify for this scholarship, an individual agreement must be established between the recipient and the Karolinska Institute (KI).

Eligibility and Application Process

To be eligible for the Erasmus+ scholarship, students must follow a step-by-step process:

  • Contact a potential supervisor in Switzerland to secure an internship offer.
  • Obtain approval from the course leader at KI.
  • Provide required information, including:
    • Contact details of the person responsible for reception.
    • Information and contact details of the supervisor in Switzerland.
    • A brief description of the internship.
  • KI will arrange a proposal for an individual agreement, which must be reviewed and signed by the recipient.
  • Complete a Learning Agreement for Traineeships, to be signed by all parties.

Important Requirements and Restrictions

  • The internship cannot take place at a higher education institution to be eligible for an Erasmus grant.
  • The scholarship application must be received at least four weeks before the end of the term.
  • If the internship is at a Swiss company or organization, no individual agreement is required, but a Learning Agreement for Traineeships must still be completed and signed.
  • Note that KI is not responsible for visa matters related to the traineeship.
