Program Overview

Biomedicinska Analytikerprogrammet

The Biomedicinska Analytikerprogrammet is a university program that aims to develop students' knowledge in clinical diagnostics within immunology, transfusion medicine, hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, and genetics through theoretical studies and practical skills training.

Program Overview

The program consists of several courses, including:

  • Bildgivande diagnostiska metoder inom klinisk fysiologi (18 hp)
  • Tillämpad biomedicinsk laboratorievetenskap 2 (12 hp)
  • Klinisk diagnostik 1 (18 hp)

Klinisk Diagnostik 1

Klinisk Diagnostik 1 is a course that covers 3 main areas:

  • Klinisk kemi (4.5 hp)
  • Klinisk mikrobiologi (5.5 hp)
  • Klinisk immunologi inklusive transfusionsmedicin och hematologi (8 hp)

Klinisk Kemi

This part of the course deals with the body's normal biochemical processes and how they are affected by disease. It introduces basic pharmacological concepts and provides an in-depth understanding of the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes in diagnostics, including the interpretation of laboratory results from both technical and medical perspectives, as well as ethical considerations.

Klinisk Mikrobiologi

This section covers the classification, reproduction, and spread of microorganisms, as well as the most common pathogens in clinical microbiology and their connection to infections. It discusses the role of the microbiota, the importance of vaccines and antibiotics, and the mechanisms behind pathogenicity, virulence, and resistance development. Additionally, it includes basic pathophysiology and diagnostics of selected infectious diseases.

Klinisk Immunologi

This part of the course provides in-depth knowledge of the immune system, hematopoiesis, and its pathology, including immunological diseases and genetics. It also covers transfusion medicine, component preparation, and advanced therapeutic drugs (ATMP), as well as relevant analysis methods such as microscopy and flow cytometry.

Tillgodoräknande

If a student has previously passed a similar course, they can apply for recognition of prior learning (Tillgodoräknande). Information and application forms for recognition of prior learning can be found on the program's website. The application for recognition of prior learning must be submitted in good time so that a decision can be made before the course starts.

Funktionsvariation

If a student has a disability and needs pedagogical support, they must apply for support. Information about support and the application process can be found on the university's website. If a student is granted support, they should send the decision to the course responsible as soon as possible.

Välkomstinformation

Welcome information will be provided two weeks before the course starts.

Schema

The schedule will be available two weeks before the course starts.
