Work Methods

The course is structured as follows:

  • Theoretical Foundations consist of lectures, seminars, and self-study of course literature.
  • DBT's Treatment Principles and Practical Application involve exercises in applying the theory and practical training in performing specific DBT techniques and methods. This occurs through group exercises, role-playing, seminars, and video illustrations.
  • Implementation and Organizational Prerequisites for DBT involve individual work applying DBT with patients at the workplace and, in smaller groups, reflecting and deepening questions related to implementation in a clinical environment.

Examination

The course's theory is examined through written exams, oral seminars, group exercises, and role-playing. Assessment of participants' skills in applying DBT-specific techniques is done via role-playing of cases and participation in discussions about current patients. At least one case conceptualization based on DBT must be assessed in written form and orally presented. For exam parts to be considered for assessment, they must be submitted before the deadline, as indicated in the schedule at the start of the course. Attendance and active participation are mandatory in practical application seminars.
