Program Overview


Partnership for Health in Older Adults, 7.5 Credits

Course Description

The course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to propose and initiate a development project focused on the life situation and health status of older adults. This project will be conducted in an interprofessional collaboration and in interaction with relevant stakeholders, including older adults and their social context.


Course Objectives

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:


  • Identify, plan, and initiate a development project to promote the well-being and health of older adults in interprofessional collaboration and in interaction with the target group.
  • Argue for the choice and implementation of the proposed development project, supported by relevant theories and considering sustainability and intercultural perspectives.
  • Evaluate the significance of the proposed development project in relation to the needs of older adults for well-being and health.
  • Present and discuss the proposed development project, adapted to the target group.
  • Reflect on their own and the group's development in interaction with different professions and the target group.

Teaching Methods

The course is partially web-based but requires active participation on the study site, with at least two course meetings on campus and supervision via the learning platform. The course's design is based on a problem-oriented and collaborative approach, where the student is actively involved in the learning process and given the opportunity to take responsibility for their learning, with reflection and discussion as important components.


Examination

The improvement work is examined in the form of a written report and an oral presentation in a group, as well as an individual written reflection. Participation in compulsory moments is required for a passing grade on the course.


Special Eligibility

At least 120 higher education credits in health and medical care or medicine. Additionally, Swedish B/Swedish 3 and English A/English 6 with a minimum grade of pass/E are required.
