The Research Introductory Course for Medical Students - FOLÄK, part 1, is a 12-credit course that provides medical students with a comprehensive introduction to medical research. The course is designed to give students a broad theoretical and practical introduction to medical research, with a focus on cell and molecular biology methods.


Course Description

The course is divided into five moments over two terms. It includes theoretical and practical laboratory techniques, seminars on current medical research, and a four-week practical period in a research project using cell and molecular biology methods. The course aims to prepare students for a research education and to give them a solid foundation in medical research.

The course objectives are to:
