Program Overview
Human Resource Management
The Human Resource Management program is a berufsbegleitende (part-time) Weiterbildung (further education) offered by the Universitšt Hamburg. This program is designed for individuals who want to acquire comprehensive knowledge in the field of human resource management.
Program Description
The program focuses on the strategic and operational aspects of human resource management, including personnel development, organizational behavior, and labor law. It is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully manage human resources in a company.
Target Group
The program is aimed at individuals who are already working in the field of human resource management or who want to start a career in this field. This includes:
- Fach- und FŁhrungskršfte (specialists and executives) from the personnel department
- Interessierte NachwuchsfŁhrungskršfte (interested junior executives) from all industries
Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the program, applicants must have:
- A completed degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, psychology, sociology)
- At least one year of professional experience
- A good command of the German language (the program is taught in German)
Program Structure
The program consists of four modules, each lasting several days. The modules are:
- Strategische Herausforderungen der Personalpolitik (Strategic Challenges of Personnel Policy)
- HRM-Funktionen im digitalen Wandel (HRM Functions in the Digital Transformation)
- Unternehmensethik (Business Ethics)
- Verhalten in Organisationen (Behavior in Organizations)
Teaching Methods
The program uses a combination of teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, case studies, and group work. The program is taught by experienced professors and practitioners from the field of human resource management.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the program, participants receive a Universitštszertifikat "Human Resource Managerin / Human Resource Manager" (University Certificate "Human Resource Manager") with 9 ECTS credits.
Duration and Costs
The program lasts approximately 6-8 months and costs 3,750 euros (as of January 2025). There is also the possibility of paying in installments.
