Program Overview

Agathe-Lasch-Coaching plus divers Program

The Agathe-Lasch-Coaching plus divers program at the University of Hamburg offers a unique opportunity for participants to reflect on their work and professional positioning through individual coaching sessions.

Program Description

This program provides a solution-oriented coaching service that is tailored to the individual needs, goals, and interests of the participants. The coaching sessions are conducted by external coaches, ensuring a secure and discreet environment for discussion. Participants can address personal concerns and change processes, and receive guidance on implementation.

Possible Themes

The coaching sessions can cover a range of topics, including:

  • Experiences with leadership competence in the academic environment
  • Dealing with barriers and stereotypes
  • Career planning
  • Work-life balance
  • Reconciling work and family life

Program Structure

Participants in the program can receive up to five individual coaching sessions, each lasting 60 minutes, within a year. The sessions can be scheduled flexibly with the coaches, and the selection of coaches is made by the University of Hamburg in consultation with the participants. A kick-off event is organized to introduce all participants and coaches, and networking events are also offered.

Target Group

The coaching program is designed to promote the advancement of:

  • Junior professors
  • Postdoctoral researchers
  • Habilitated researchers

The program is extended to include individuals with:

  • Long-term physical or mental disabilities or illnesses
  • Family responsibilities, such as childcare or caring for relatives
  • International researchers who want to reflect on their experiences in the German academic system

Coaching sessions can be conducted in English for non-German speaking participants.

Application

Applications should be submitted with a brief description of the applicant's current professional situation, their coaching needs, and their expectations from the program. The application documents will be treated confidentially. Re-applications from previous participants are possible in justified cases.
