Program Overview
Incoming Traineeship at University of Padua
The University of Padua offers incoming traineeships for international students who wish to gain practical experience in their field of study. These traineeships are available in various academic departments and units, and students can apply through international mobility programs or as part of an internship promoted by their home university.
Eligibility
To be eligible for an incoming traineeship, students must meet the following requirements:
- Be a student at a foreign university
- Not be taking exams at the University of Padua
- Have a good understanding of the Italian language (not necessarily required, but recommended)
- Meet the specific requirements of the hosting department or unit
How to Present a Candidacy
To apply for an incoming traineeship, students must follow these steps:
- If not already in touch with a Professor/Department/Unit: Send an email with the following documents in PDF format and in English:
- CV
- Transcript of Records
- Cover Letter containing activities, the period of stay, and fields of research or a description of the project
- If already in touch with a Professor/Department/Unit: Send an email indicating the name of the Professor/Department/Unit, the period of mobility, and the type of agreement
Mandatory Documents
To set up the internship, the following documents are required:
- Traineeship Agreement: Erasmus Learning Agreement for Traineeships (LAT) or Internship Agreement provided by the sending institution
- Receipts of Insurance policies: For accidents on the job and third-party liability (or civil liability)
- Copy of ID documents: Back and front, in PDF format
- Full students' address: In their home country, necessary for the request of the fiscal code
Further Fulfilments
Before the beginning of the mobility, students must:
- Agree on activities and period of stay with the hosting Professor/Department/Unit
- Pass the general training course on safety in the workplace on the Moodle Platform
- Non-EU students must contact the SAOS Desk (Immigration Support Service) for accommodation information and to carry out the procedure for legal stays in Italy, visas, and passports control
During the Mobility
- Students who need to validate the Declaration of Arrival can send their documents in PDF format to the Career Service
- For those who wish to suspend or extend the mobility, specific procedures must be followed, including filling in the LAT "During the Mobility" section and communicating with the sending institution and the University of Padua
End of the Mobility
- Students who need to validate the Declaration of Ending can forward the document in PDF format to the Career Service
