Program Overview


Introduction to Juntos

Juntos works to empower students and families in Oregon around education. The Juntos Para Una Mejor Educación Program (Together for a Better Education) engages families in college and career exploration. Juntos means "together" in Spanish, reflecting the program's core values of engaging the entire family and school partners in the students' educational goals.


Program Components

Juntos is a multi-component program designed to transform pathways to higher education for youth and their families. The program components include:


  • A six-week family High School and Middle School workshop series
  • Family nights addressing academic and social topics
  • College visits and college access programming
  • Student clubs, mentoring, and advising for youth
  • Participation in summer camps
  • Juntos Family Day at Oregon State University
  • Juntos Afuera
  • And more!

History and Impact

Juntos, originally developed at North Carolina State University, was brought to Oregon in 2012 by OSU Open Campus. The program has served more than 7200 6-12th grade students and their families since its establishment. Notably, Juntos has achieved a 90+% high school graduation and college-going rate.

Program Reach

Juntos is currently available in 34 communities across 20 counties in Oregon.


College Access and Support

Open Campus offers various college access programs, including Future Pathways, College Talk Tuesdays, Open Campus Hangouts, and College Access Summer Melt. These programs provide resources, mentoring, and advising to guide students throughout their college journey.


Additional Resources

Other resources available include a Scholarship Text Series, which shares college scholarship opportunities and application tips, and a College and Career Guide that offers information on high school checklists, financial aid, and career development.
