Oregon Coaching Pathway: Coaching Foundations
Program Overview
Oregon State Coach Pathway: Coaching Foundations
The Oregon State Coach Pathway: Coaching Foundations is a self-paced professional development course designed to establish a foundational understanding of the Oregon State coaching competency requirements.
What is Coaching Foundations?
In Oregon, the coaching system supports practice-based coaching, which is an experiential-based coaching framework. This online course will teach you the Oregon State coaching competency requirements through interactive activities, videos, diagrams, knowledge quizzes, and reflections. A companion workbook is also provided to enhance your learning experience.
You will have the opportunity to self-assess your understanding of the Oregon State coaching competency requirements and reflect on your strengths and growth opportunities. For coaches with an ELSI mentor coach, the self-assessment will inform collaborative professional development planning and goal setting.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive eight hours of ORO credit.
Who Will Benefit from This Course?
Coaching Foundations is designed for coaches employed by early childhood educators and those interested in becoming coaches for early childhood educators in Oregon.
Coaches work directly with educators on effective practice; therefore, it is strongly recommended that participants have practical experience and knowledge in Oregon's core knowledge categories of early childhood principles and practices (e.g., Step 9 or above in the Oregon Registry Online (ORO) system).
Note
Registration for this course requires a valid ORO account.
