Program Overview


Public Health Graduate Certificate

The online Graduate Certificate in Public Health consists of a minimum of 18 graduate credits, focusing on key domains of public health. All of these courses are available online.


Curriculum

To earn the public health certificate, you must complete all required courses within seven years while maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and receive individual course grades of a B- or better.


Required Prerequisite Courses

  • HHS 523 - Public Health Impact (4 credits)
  • HHS 533 - Computing for Population Health Data (2 credits)
  • HHS 534 - Qualitative Methods for Health Equity (3 credits)

Elective Courses

Select a minimum of 9 credits from any combination of graduate-level public health courses.


Pathway to a Master of Public Health

It may be possible to apply some of the credits you earn in this graduate certificate program toward Oregon State's online master's degree in public health. Successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Public Health or program courses does not guarantee admission to the MPH program.
