Program Overview
Program Overview
The Bachelor's program in Elementary School Pedagogy is a unique course of study that distinguishes itself by incorporating both theoretical and practical aspects of the chosen subjects. The modules for the three selected subjects are divided into two parts: half of the module focuses on the subject's scientific foundation, while the other half concentrates on the subject's didactic approach.
Program Structure
The program requires the combination of two compulsory subjects: German and Mathematics. However, with the choice of Special Education as a specialization, it is possible to replace one of these two subjects. Additional subjects that can be chosen include:
- Sachunterricht (General Studies)
- Englisch (English)
- Franzˆsisch (French)
- Musik (Music)
- Kunst (Art)
Curriculum
In addition to the three chosen subjects, the program includes the area of Teacher Training-Related Occupational Science (Lehramtsbezogenen Berufswissenschaft, LBW) as a fixed component. This area encompasses modules such as:
- Einf¸hrung in die allgemeine Grundschulp‰dagogik (Introduction to General Elementary School Pedagogy)
- A elective module within the Erg‰nzungsbereich (Supplementary Area) For the subjects Kunst (Art) and Musik (Music), as well as Sonderp‰dagogik (Special Education), there are no elective modules; instead, specific modules within the Erg‰nzungsbereich are mandatory.
Program Details
The program's design ensures a comprehensive education, combining theoretical foundations with practical applications. By incorporating both subject-specific and pedagogical aspects, the program aims to provide students with a well-rounded understanding of elementary school pedagogy.
