Program Overview
Italian Studies
The Italian Studies program at Freie Universit‰t Berlin requires a language level of B1 CEFR in Italian. However, it is also possible to study with little or no previous language knowledge.
Admission Requirements
- If you have little or no prior language proficiency in Italian, a two-semester pre-study language course will precede your regular course of study.
- If you apply with only little or no prior language knowledge, you will be enrolled directly in the pre-study language course.
- In case of existing previous knowledge on the level B1 CEFR in Italian, this can be proven by appropriate certificates.
- Otherwise, the language test for university applicants held at the Language Center of the FU can be taken to prove the language level.
