Program Overview


Introduction to the Joint Bachelor in Sustainability

The Una Europa Joint Bachelor in Sustainability (BASUS) is a degree program that enables students to study sustainability across disciplines and countries. This interdisciplinary program starts in the fall of 2025 at JU Kraków and will be continued in the following semesters at six partner universities.


Program Structure

The program begins at JU Kraków and can be continued with a subject specialization at one of the six universities listed below from semester III. The six partner universities are:


  • JU Kraków
  • University of Helsinki
  • KU Leuven
  • University of Madrid
  • Université Paris (1 Panthéon-Sorbonne)
  • University of Zurich

The Freie Universität Berlin and the University of Edinburgh are involved in the Joint Bachelor in Sustainability as mobility partners.

Students enrolled in the BASUS program can dive deeper into one of the following tracks:


  • Sustainable Chemistry and Physics - Helsinki
  • Law and Politics of Sustainability - Kraków
  • Economics, Management and Engineering - Leuven
  • Environmental and Life Sciences - Madrid
  • Geography and Economy - Paris
  • Social Sciences and Humanities - Zurich

Program Objectives

The program is designed to develop future decision-makers in the field of sustainability by providing them with the necessary tools, knowledge, and critical thinking skills to address the world's most pressing environmental, economic, and social issues.
