Program Overview

Introduction to the Program

The "Sprache und Literatur der T僡kei" (Language and Literature of Turkey) program at Freie Universit酹 Berlin offers students a comprehensive education in Turkish language, literature, and cultural science. The program focuses on providing students with various analytical categories and research methods that can be applied to texts, linguistic phenomena, and social discourses from Turkey.

Program Description

The program takes into account the diversity of cultures and literatures in Turkey, as well as historical developments and specific contexts. A central concern of the program is the connection of linguistic, literary, and cultural theoretical concepts with current debates and the critical reflection of these concepts. This includes the analysis of the history of the field, language use, and various categories of difference, such as cultural, political, social, historical, and gender- and diversity-related aspects.

Cultural, literary, and language theory, as well as gender and diversity competence, are also taught. An integral part of the program is the systematic connection of learning the Turkish language with the imparting of cultural aspects.

Career Prospects
