Program Description
Students in this major earn a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management with a major in Global Club Management and Leadership. The program provides a unique personalized experience every step of the way along the academic journey. The industry engagement, global internships, and student activities for this major will literally change the student's world and future.
Curriculum
The curriculum for the Global Club Management and Leadership major includes:
- Prerequisite Coursework (12 hours):
- MAC 1105: College Algebra
- HFT 1000: Introduction to Hospitality
- ECO 2013: Principles of Macroeconomics
- ECO 2023: Principles of Microeconomics
- CGS 2100: Microcomputer Applications for Business
- CGS 2518: Spreadsheets for Business
- Requirements for Progression to the Upper-Division Major:
- Completion of at least 52 semester hours
- A cumulative FSU grade point average of at least 2.0 on all college work attempted
- Satisfactory completion of all required prerequisite coursework
- Successful completion of 1st & 2nd GE English and 1st & 2nd GE Math coursework

- HFT 3424: Hospitality Financial Analysis
- HFT 4502: Integrated Marketing for Hospitality
- HFT 4224: Hospitality Leadership and Ethics
- HFT 3941: Internship
- HFT 1350: Golf for Business and Life
- HFT 3100: Introduction to Global Club Management
- HFT 3101: Global Club Operations and Governance
- HFT 3104: Member Engagement and Events
- HFT 3431: Hospitality Managerial Accounting
- HFT 3806: Introduction to Food & Beverage Management
- HFT 4802: Catering Management
- Electives: Majors must have a total of 9 credit hours between HFT 3941 and elective requirements.
Program Requirements
- Computer Skills Competency: No additional hours needed beyond prerequisites.
- Oral Communication Competency (3 hours beyond major coursework): Students must demonstrate the ability to orally transmit ideas and information clearly.
- Mapping: Academic progress is monitored each Fall and Spring semester to ensure that students are on course to earn their degree in a timely fashion.
- Additional Requirements:
- Global Club Management and Leadership majors must complete 6 months of approved internship.
- Global Club Management and Leadership majors are required to complete a Global Component.
- Attendance and/or participation in a minimum of 6 industry events is required.
- Global Club Management and Leadership majors are required to be members of the Club Management Association of America upon being formally admitted to the major.
- Global Club Management and Leadership majors are required to complete a digital capstone portfolio.
- Each student must complete all University-wide requirements for graduation.
