Family Medicine Sub-Internship
The Family Medicine Sub-Internship is a four-week competency-based clerkship in family medicine. Students are expected to actively participate in care of hospitalized patients and assume an expanded level of clinical responsibility. The course provides exposure to the full spectrum of care provided by family physicians, including inpatient care to patients of all ages and a broad range of conditions. Students will participate as a member of inter-professional teams and work effectively to facilitate optimal patient care. The course also offers opportunities to participate in procedures commonly performed by family physicians and ambulatory encounters that provide additional exposure to the full scope of family medicine.
