Geriatric Clerkship
The Geriatric Clerkship is a four-week clerkship that provides medical students with an in-depth exposure to the intricacies, subtleties, barriers, and obstacles to high-quality primary medical care for older adults. The clerkship is designed to meet the expressed individual needs of each student in achieving basic performance proficiencies consistent with the AAMC and John A. Hartford Foundation Consensus graduating medical student minimum competencies.
During the Geriatric Rotation, students are required to do a presentation on a geriatric topic consisting of a minimum of ten slides. The clerkship also includes the expectation that each student follow at least 2 patients across transitions in their sites of care.
Geriatrics At Your Fingertips
Geriatrics At Your Fingertips is a web edition that provides accessible, concise information for any healthcare professional or trainee caring for older adults with complex, chronic diseases and disorders. The site contains over 100 tables focused on current medication use and clinical guidelines, interactive calculators, assessment instruments, and algorithms.
