Online Master of Social Work Program

The Online Master of Social Work (MSW) program at Florida State University is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a licensed clinical social worker. The program is offered online and is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

The Online MSW program is available in two tracks: Advanced Standing MSW and Traditional MSW. The Advanced Standing MSW is designed for students who have a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from a CSWE-accredited institution, while the Traditional MSW is designed for students who have a bachelor's degree in any field.


  • Advanced Standing MSW: This track is designed for students who have a BSW degree and can be completed in 2 years or less.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the Online MSW program, students must meet the following requirements:

Curriculum

  • Human Behavior and The Social Environment: This course focuses on reciprocal relationships between human behavior and social environments.
