Online Master of Social Work Program

The Online Master of Social Work (MSW) program at Florida State University is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a licensed clinical social worker. Admission Requirements

• Traditional MSW: Bachelor's degree in any field To apply, students must submit their application along with their:
  • Resume and Statement of Purpose
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Transcripts with a minimum 3.0 GPA Note: The GRE requirement has been waived through the 2026 admission cycle.

Program Tracks

The Online MSW program offers two tracks:

• Advanced Standing MSW: This track is designed for students who have a Bachelor of Social Work degree from a CSWE-accredited institution. The program can be completed in two years and consists of 39 credit hours.
• Traditional MSW: This track is designed for students who have a bachelor's degree in any field other than social work. The program can be completed in three years and consists of 61 credit hours.

Curriculum

The Online MSW program curriculum is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in social work practice, policy, and research. The curriculum includes courses in:

The Online MSW program is designed to prepare students for licensure as a clinical social worker. The program meets the licensure requirements for the state of South Carolina, but students should check with their state's licensing agency to ensure that the program meets their state's requirements.
