Program Overview

Introduction to the Restorative Internship Program

The Restorative Internship Program is a 12-month training program in clinical and didactic restorative and implant dentistry. This non-accredited internship is sponsored by the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) department and is directed by the Chairman of the Department. The program is considered full-time due to the combination of didactic and clinical practical hours. It is essential to note that this program is not eligible for financial aid.

Program Structure

The clinical component of the program consists of a laboratory portion and a clinical portion. In the clinical portion, interns observe and assist AEGD residents during their clinical duty and improve their hand skills through assigned exercises on dental manikins.

Evaluation and Completion

The intern's progress is evaluated quarterly by an assigned mentor. Upon satisfactory completion of the program, the intern receives a certificate of completion.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the Restorative Internship Program, candidates must have a DDS degree or its equivalent. Foreign graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Application Process

  • Reach out to the Office of Graduate Studies to inquire about current internship availability before applying.
  • Complete the Restorative Internship Application and return it to the Dental Graduate Studies Coordinator.
  • Pay the non-refundable application fee.
  • Re-applicants must fully complete a new application and pay all fees.
