Jumbunna Tutoring for Academic Success (JTAS)

Introduction

Jumbunna Tutoring for Academic Success (JTAS) is a program offered by the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) to support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students in achieving their academic goals.


What is JTAS?

JTAS provides regular tutoring sessions in a supportive learning environment, matching students with dedicated tutors committed to helping them plan, set, and achieve academic goals.


Eligibility

To be eligible for JTAS, students must:


  • Be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (able to provide a Confirmation of Aboriginality/UTS Statutory Declaration)
  • Be enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate course at UTS
  • Be assessed as requiring additional assistance to achieve academic goals

Tutoring on the JTAS Program

The primary role of a JTAS tutor is to provide tailored academic support and guidance, working alongside Jumbunna students to assist with coursework.


Registration

Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students can apply online for JTAS. Applications are accepted for each academic session.

Tutors can register their interest by reviewing the JTAS Tutor Guidelines and completing the registration process.
