Program Overview

The Australian Language and Culture Studies program is designed for students who do not meet the required English language level to enroll in other University of Technology Sydney (UTS) study abroad and exchange programs. This program offers full-time studies that focus on developing English language skills through the study of Australian language, society, and culture.

Program Structure

• The program allows students to enroll in full-time studies at UTS for one or two teaching sessions, subject to approval from their home institution if they wish to gain academic credit.
• The program is taught by UTS faculty staff, ensuring students receive high-quality instruction and guidance.

Program Features

• Students who enroll in this program for two teaching sessions may choose to sit an IELTS test at the end of their first session, providing an opportunity to transfer into a different Study Abroad or Exchange option for their second session.
• In addition to English classes, students will be paired with an experienced UTS student, known as a "buddy," to facilitate cultural integration and support.
• The program includes visits to places of cultural importance, enriching students' understanding of Australian society and culture.

• The program is open to all students who do not meet the required English language level for other UTS study abroad and exchange programs.
• Enrollment is subject to approval from the student's home institution if they wish to gain academic credit.
