Bachelor of Economics Master of Teaching in Secondary Education
The Bachelor of Economics Master of Teaching in Secondary Education is a combined program designed for aspiring secondary school teachers specialising in Business Studies and Economics. This course enables students to gain a greater depth of disciplinary knowledge in Economics before commencing their teaching subjects in the Master of Teaching in Secondary Education from the second year of study.
Course Description
This course is designed for students who want to teach Economics and Business Studies in secondary schools. The combined program (undergraduate + postgraduate degree) allows students to learn a greater depth of disciplinary knowledge in Economics before commencing their teaching subjects.
Course Structure
Students must complete 96 credit points of disciplinary content subjects in the Bachelor of Economics, consisting of:
- 66 credit points of core subjects
- 12 credit points of core Business subjects
- 18 credit points of Economics elective choice block
In the Master of Teaching in Secondary Education component, students complete 96 credit points, comprising:
- 42 credit points of core subjects focused on foundation education disciplines
- 54 credit points of teaching methods and professional experience, as well as elective subjects
