Program Overview
Introduction to the Camperdown Program
The Camperdown Program is a treatment designed for adults and adolescents who stutter. The primary aim of the program is to equip clients with a speech technique that enables them to control their stuttering in situations of their choosing.
Program Implementation
The Camperdown Program is typically implemented during weekly consultations with a speech pathologist, which can take place in a clinic or via telepractice. Additionally, the program can be implemented in a group or intensive format. While the primary focus is on individual weekly treatment, other formats are also discussed.
Program Details
The Camperdown Program workshop has been revised to reflect the new terminology and procedures outlined in the 2024 Camperdown Treatment guide. This workshop is designed for speech pathologists interested in using the program to treat adults or adolescents who stutter. The program integrates theory and research evidence, where relevant, to understand program concepts. However, the workshop is practical-based, focusing on the skills needed to implement the various stages of the program.
