University Program Overview

The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) offers mentoring programs designed to increase student employability, enhance learning, and capabilities on an ongoing basis. These programs are facilitated through the Student Services Unit and Alumni Relations via a platform.

Program Details

The mentoring programs are available to individuals who have expressed an interest in participating. To be eligible, individuals must meet specific criteria, although the details of these criteria are not specified.

• The programs are facilitated through a platform where individuals can register and be matched with mentors.
• Information may be loaded into the platform from existing data held by UTS, including email addresses, course information, qualifications, and grades.

Information Usage

• The level of information provided by participants is at their discretion.
• UTS will not load certain personal information into the platform, such as date of birth, residential address, ethnicity, or health information.
• Information will be used to match mentees and mentors and to manage their relationships.
• It will also be used for quality management, planning, program development, and statistical analyses.

Information Disclosure

• Information held about matched mentees and mentors will be available to both parties, except for grades.
• Information will be disclosed to facilitate partnerships and as required or authorized by law.

Data Retention

• The platform is hosted in the US and managed under contract with UTS.
• Information held in the system will be retained by UTS for a minimum of 7 years after an account becomes inactive.
• No information will be held by the system or the contracted vendor upon termination of UTS services.
• Records requiring ongoing retention will be transferred back to UTS for secure storage and management.
