Eligibility for Tax Help Program
To be eligible for the Tax Help Program, students and staff must:
- Have earned around $60,000 or less for the tax year
- Have income earnings from employer salaries (PAYE); interest and dividends
- Be an international student, Australian citizen, permanent resident, or on a work-permitting visa or humanitarian visa
Documents Required for Tax Help Program
Students and staff must bring the following documents to their appointment:
- Tax file number
- BSB and bank account details
- Medicare card or number and private health insurance statement (for local students/staff)
- OSHC private/Medibank health insurance (for international students/staff)
Self-Help Tax Return
Students and staff can also lodge their own tax return online using the official Tax Office online preparation and lodgement software, myGov.
