Program Overview
Introduction to the U@Uni Academy
The U@Uni Academy is a two-year program designed to provide students with a taste of university life, equip them with academic and life skills, and offer a pathway into a course at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
The U@Uni Academy Program
Orientation Day
Students enrolled in the U@Uni program participate in an on-campus Orientation Day, where they hear about the Academy, meet UTS staff and student mentors, and participate in taster faculty workshops. Lunch is provided, and students have the opportunity to get to know their fellow Academy participants.
Winter School
A hands-on, one-week experience held in the July school holidays during Year 11, providing students with a taste of various subjects.
Year 11 Workshops and Mentoring
Throughout Year 11, students participate in on-campus experiences, including one-day 'hands-on' faculty-based and transdisciplinary workshops. They work alongside UTS academics, student mentors, and staff to increase their confidence in the university environment. Mentoring is also provided by Student Ambassadors, who support students in achieving their goals.
Year 12 UniPrep
In Year 12, UTS Ambassadors visit students' schools to provide support with HSC subjects and answer questions about the HSC or university.
U@Uni Student Ambassadors
Current UTS students, studying a wide range of courses, serve as Student Ambassadors. They provide support and share their experiences, having recently completed the HSC themselves.
Your Learning
Throughout the program, students demonstrate their skills and learning in an online portfolio, documenting self-reflection, uploading work, and monitoring progress on UTS: REVIEW. Feedback is provided via UTS: REVIEW.
Graduation Criteria
To receive an offer to study at UTS upon completion of the U@Uni Academy, students must fulfill certain criteria, which are detailed in the FAQs page.
