Master of Animation and Visualisation
The Master of Animation and Visualisation is a hands-on, one-year accelerated postgraduate degree developed in partnership with the industry-leading animation studio Netflix Animation Studios (formerly Animal Logic). Designed for students with creative professionals, this program allows you to study your chosen specialisation in 3D animation or visual effects, learning the latest industry practices in a professional, immersive studio.
Course Description
This course has been developed in partnership with the industry-leading animation studio Netflix Animation Studios (formerly Animal Logic). It is designed for aspiring professionals seeking specialised roles in the 3D animation and visual effects industries. The course focuses on developing highly specialised skills in specific areas of 3D animation and visual effects production.
Course Structure
As a student, you'll undertake three studio subjects, where you'll build your expertise in one of the following areas: art department, modelling, rigging, 3D animation, pre-visualisation/layout, surfacing, effects (FX), lighting, compositing, technical direction, or production management.

Typical Course Program
The outline below shows an example program for the Master of Animation and Visualisation.
- The Connected Studio: You will work together to develop the story for the year's 3D animated short film.
- The Collaboration Studio: You will research new visualisation technologies to produce a second creative project.
- The Challenge Studio: Students complete the 3D animated short film and any other outstanding projects to industry standards.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission to this course, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Completed Australian bachelor's degree or higher qualification, or overseas equivalent, in any field of study, AND advanced skills and aptitude in the nominated specialisation in 3D animation or visual effects production as demonstrated by their portfolio and work experience covered in their Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Mandatory Application Documents and Requirements:
- Nominated specialisation
- Portfolio: demonstrating skill in the applicant's nominated specialisation
- Curriculum Vitae (CV): describing education, training, and experience relevant to the nominated area of 3D animation and/or visualisation production
