Bachelor of Economics Bachelor of Laws
The Bachelor of Economics Bachelor of Laws is a dual degree program designed to develop students' knowledge and skills in legal theory and practice, as well as build their analytical and quantitative capabilities in economics. This program is part of the Faculty of Law and satisfies the academic requirements for admission to the Supreme Court of NSW as a lawyer.
Course Description
This course is designed for those who want a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between financial systems and the law. As well as enhancing analytical and quantitative skills to tackle economic challenges effectively, students will also meet the academic requirements for admission as a lawyer in NSW. Distinctive features include the integration of law with econometrics, macroeconomics, and microeconomics, tailored to inform practical policy decisions.
Course Structure
In their Economics studies, students will begin by completing a range of core subjects, developing their knowledge of quantitative methods, micro- and macroeconomics, policy, and analysis. They will then curate their learning journey through their choice of electives, which include business internships and experimental economics. Meanwhile, students will also complete core Law subjects to acquire knowledge in areas like contracts, torts, procedure, and evidence. They can also choose to pursue a major in Legal Futures and Technology or complete their choice of Law electives.

Course Highlights
This program is designed to develop students' knowledge and skills in legal theory and practice and build their analytical and quantitative capabilities required to respond effectively to economic challenges. Graduates of the Bachelor of Law meet the academic requirements to become practising lawyers in the state of NSW.
Industry Accreditation
This course satisfies the academic requirements for admission to the Supreme Court of NSW as a lawyer. Once completed, students will also need to complete a practical legal training program, such as the Graduate Certificate in Professional Legal Practice, to be eligible for admission as a lawyer.

- English Language Requirements: IELTS Academic: overall 6.5, writing 6.0; TOEFL iBT: overall 79, writing 21; UTS College AE5: Pass; Pearson PTE: overall 58, writing 50; Cambridge C1A/C2P: overall 176, writing 169.
- Admission Requirements: Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level.
- Domestic Course Fees: 2026 Indicative tuition fees for government-supported domestic students. The indicative total tuition fee for the entire course is $91,455.00.
