Program Overview
University of Technology Sydney Programs
The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) offers a range of programs for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the exchange program, students must meet the following criteria:
- Be currently enrolled in a UTS Business School coursework award
- Have achieved a credit average or better in their study
- Have completed a minimum of eight subjects in their course
- Met specific course-specific requirements and received approval for a study plan
Course-Specific Requirements
Students should retain general electives or major options to undertake on exchange. These subjects are often the easiest to gain approval and provide the most flexibility when enrolling at the host university.
Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students may be eligible for full session exchange (18-24 credit points) or short-term global experiences (6-12 credit points).
Bachelor of Business
Required UTS subject completion prior to exchange:
- At the point of application, students must complete all core subjects Permitted exchange study:
- Students can undertake business electives towards SMJ08139 or academic subjects towards general electives Restrictions:
- Students are not permitted to complete capstone subjects towards their major(s) on exchange
Bachelor of Management
- Must complete eight subjects (48 credit points) at the point of application to UTS Global Exchange
- Can undertake business electives towards SMJ08139 or academic subjects towards general electives
- Students are not permitted to complete capstone subject on exchange
Bachelor of Economics
- Must complete eight subjects (48 credit points) including specific subjects at the point of application to UTS Global Exchange
- Can undertake business electives towards SMJ08139 or academic subjects towards general electives
- Students with limited options will be permitted to undertake electives towards their Economics options on exchange, up to a maximum of 12 credit points
- Students are not permitted to complete capstone subjects towards their course or major on exchange
Postgraduate Students
Due to curriculum restrictions, several courses are unsuitable for the full session exchange program, but students may participate in a short-term global experience.
Graduate Certificate
- Not eligible for full session exchange or short-term global experiences
Graduate Diploma
- Not eligible for full session exchange or short-term global experiences
- Graduate Diploma of Business Administration - short-term global experience for elective option only
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- May be eligible for full session exchange (18-24 credit points) or short-term global experiences (6-12 credit points) for elective option only
- Must complete a minimum of four core subjects at the point of application and eight subjects including core subjects at the end of the session of application to UTS Global Exchange
Master Courses
- Not eligible for full session exchange but may participate in short-term global experiences for elective option only
Dual Degree Opportunity for MBA Students
In partnership with Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration (WU), UTS Business School offers select MBA students the opportunity to complete a combined degree program.
Business School Exchange Travel Grant
UTS Business School may offer up to five Exchange Travel Grants each session to support domestic students experiencing financial and/or other educational challenges in undertaking the global exchange program.
Conditions for Business School Exchange Travel Grant
To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa
- Be admitted and currently enrolled in a UTS Business undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree through the UTS Educational Access Schemes, demonstrating financial disadvantage
- Be selected to undertake a UTS Global Exchange, accepted by a UTS Exchange Partner Institution
- Be enrolled in 18 24 credit points of UTS Exchange Subjects
- No record of student misconduct
Selection Committee
Each applicant will be assessed by the Selection Committee, where the committee will determine the ranking principles for that session based on the relative needs of applicants and with priority given to applicants with multiple educational disadvantages.
Payment of Travel Grant
Payment of the travel grant will be made into the recipient's nominated bank account after the census date for the respective session.
