Program Overview
Diploma in Innovation
The Diploma in Innovation at UTS equips students with innovation capabilities and entrepreneurial skills, supporting personal growth and preparing them to be future change makers. This program is exclusive to UTS and all UTS undergraduates can enroll, excluding Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation students.
Course Description
The Diploma in Innovation runs alongside a student's degree, incorporating international best practices and expert guests. In a supportive environment, it fosters practical skills for sectoral and societal change, encouraging creative problem-solving that complements the main field of study. As a graduate, students will creatively integrate ideas across professions and be inventors of the future.
Course Structure
- The course is offered on a part-time basis over 3 years.
- Subjects run in 3-week long intensive studios in July, December, and February sessions.
- The Diploma in Innovation is exclusively available as a companion degree.
- Students complete Diploma subjects within the duration of their core degree and get a second qualification when they graduate.
- Subjects can be taken in any order, although starting with Innovation in Complex Systems is recommended.

Admission Requirements
- Admission is only open to UTS undergraduate coursework students.
- Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation are ineligible for simultaneous admission to the Diploma of Innovation.
- Eligibility for admission does not guarantee an offer of a place.
- Applications are handled directly by the Transdisciplinary School and are independent of the admission criteria for core degrees.

Domestic Course Fees
- 2026 Indicative tuition fees for government-supported domestic students: $17,399.00
- Fees are reviewed annually and may change.
- The Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) and other costs such as textbooks, materials, and course-related costs are not included in the tuition fees.
