Course Description

This course is part of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and is fully accredited by Engineers Australia. Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level. English language requirements include an IELTS Academic score of 6.5, with a writing score of 6.0, or equivalent.


Course Structure

The course is offered on a four-year, full-time basis, with the option to study part-time over eight years. The program consists of a range of core engineering subjects, biomedical engineering major subjects, elective subjects, and a professional engineering practice subject.

Biomedical Engineering Major

The biomedical engineering major introduces students to a wide range of areas related to medical technology, including tissue engineering, genomics, nanotechnology, bioprinting, and more. Assumed knowledge for this course includes HSC Mathematics Extension 1, Physics, and English Standard. English Advanced is recommended. For the Biomedical major, Chemistry is also recommended.
