The Bachelor of Communication in Social and Political Sciences Bachelor of Laws is a combined degree that equips students with practical and theoretical capabilities in policy, political science, sociology, and law. This program is designed to give students a broad understanding of social and political dynamics, alongside a comprehensive legal education.
Course Description
This course is suitable for students aiming to integrate social sciences with legal expertise, especially those interested in the relationship between law, society, and politics. Students will acquire knowledge in sociology, political science, and international studies, alongside a comprehensive legal education. They will develop skills in social research, policy formulation, and legal analysis, with elective modules in history, communication, and specialist legal topics.
Course Structure
The course is offered on a five-year, full-time basis. Students are required to attend approximately 17 hours of seminars and lectures a week and may be required to attend evening classes for the law component.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level. Eligibility for admission does not guarantee an offer of a place.

Course Fees
The indicative total tuition fee for government-supported domestic students is $91,455.00. Fees are reviewed annually and may change.
Location
Classes are held at the City Campus or specialist off-campus locations. Some courses are delivered via online (distance) learning.
What You'll Study
Students will commence their Law studies with a range of core subjects, building their familiarity with topics like remedies, evidence, and Constitutional law. They will then have the opportunity to acquire forward-focused insights through the Legal Futures and Technology Major or study topics of particular interest through their choice of Options subjects.

Course Highlights
This program is designed to give students practical and theoretical capabilities in policy, political science, sociology, and law. Students will get the chance to complete hands-on research, internships, and fieldwork in two discrete disciplines and graduate having completed the academic requirements for admission as a lawyer to the NSW Supreme Court.
Industry Accreditation
This course satisfies the academic requirements for admission to the Supreme Court of NSW as a lawyer. Once completed, students will also need to complete a practical legal training program, such as the Graduate Certificate in Professional Legal Practice, to be eligible for admission as a lawyer.
