Bachelor of Creative Production in Music and Sound Design Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation

The Bachelor of Creative Production in Music and Sound Design combined with the Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation is a portfolio-based course designed for aspiring professionals in music and sound design, seeking to hone their artistic, technical, and theoretical expertise.


Course Description

This course is designed to give students a comprehensive blend of music, sound, and screen disciplines (film, TV, games, online), enhanced with high-level conceptual thinking and problem-solving practices that lead to the development of innovative, creative, and entrepreneurial outcomes. Students will gain knowledge in music production, sound engineering, digital media, as well as sound and music creation, learning directly from industry experts.


Course Structure

Students will complete core subjects addressing the juxtaposition of sound and the moving image, ethical creative practice, and entrepreneurship. In the Music and Sound Design stream, students will learn about audio production, songwriting, composing, and creating soundtracks for screen, audio cultures, and much more. Students will also have the option to enhance their specialized skillset by taking sub-majors in areas like animation, media arts, media business, digital and social media, creative writing, or journalism.


Admission Requirements

Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level. The Faculty has an optional Music and Sound Design Portfolio Scheme which awards up to five (5) adjustment points towards the selection rank, based on an applicant's portfolio of music and sound design work.

Tuition Fees

The indicative total tuition fee for government-supported domestic students is $91,455.00. Fees are reviewed annually and may change.


Duration and Intake

The course is offered on a four-year, full-time basis, with intake in Autumn Session 2026.

Graduates can pursue careers in sound design and music production across a range of media like games, television, advertising, film, web, and digital media. Career pathways include working as a composer, sound engineer, sound designer, music supervisor, music business professional, or game sound designer.
