Research Internships

Research internships are available for science students, providing opportunities to work on projects in various research labs on campus or with external organizations.


School of Life Sciences Research

The School of Life Sciences offers research projects in the following areas:


  • Healthy Futures: Medical and molecular biosciences, including projects focused on cancer, metabolic diseases, neuroscience, parasitology, or infection and immunity
  • Sustainability and Ecosystem Health: Environmental sciences, including projects focused on air quality, plant ecology, wildlife health, and conservation biology
  • Life Sciences Technologies: Cell and membrane biophysics, intracellular delivery, and biological pharmaceutical

Enrolment in Research Internships

To enrol in a UTS Science Internship subject, students must have a free elective in their Study Plan. Internships can be 6p, 12p, or 18p credits.


Research Areas

Most research groups in the School of Life Sciences have a range of projects suitable for interns. Students can find a research group in their area of interest, contact the group leader, and check the details of the enrolment process.
