The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Diploma in Industry Practice (Civil Construction) is a five-year full-time course designed for aspiring professional engineers. This course offers an authentic, professionally focused, and practice-based education program with two sessions of internship in a real workplace setting.

Course Description

This course is designed for students who seek to design, create, manage, and improve complex engineering systems using cutting-edge technologies. The course offers a range of specialized engineering majors, highly valued by industry and recognized internationally.

Course Structure

The course structure includes:

• 8 core Engineering subjects
• 20 Civil Engineering major subjects
• 4 elective subjects
• 1 Industry Practice Diploma
• 1 x 2 x 24 weeks internship

Admission Requirements

Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level. Eligibility for admission does not guarantee an offer of a place.

Tuition Fees

The indicative total tuition fee for government-supported domestic students is $50,130.00. Fees are reviewed annually and may change.

Professional Recognition

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice is fully accredited by Engineers Australia at the level of Professional Engineer and is recognized internationally by signatories to the Washington Accord.

Inherent Requirements

Inherent requirements are academic and non-academic requirements that are essential for successfully completing a course at UTS.

Assumed Knowledge

HSC Mathematics Extension 1; Physics; and English Standard. English Advanced is recommended.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Students who have completed equivalent subjects at a recognized tertiary education institution may be eligible for recognition of prior learning (RPL).

Course Duration

Full-time students normally complete the program in five years, which includes four years of study plus two periods of engineering internship in the workplace totaling at least 48 weeks.

Location

Our classes are held at our City Campus, or specialist off-campus locations. Some of our courses are delivered via online (distance) learning.
