The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Diploma in Industry Practice (Software) is a five-year full-time course that combines academic study with hands-on skills. This course is designed for aspiring professional engineers who seek to design, create, manage, and improve complex engineering systems using cutting-edge technologies.
Course Description
This course offers an authentic, professionally focused, and practice-based education program with two sessions of internship in a real workplace setting. Students can select from a wide range of specialized engineering majors, highly valued by industry and recognized internationally. Sub-majors and electives within these branches of engineering allow students to tailor their learning to their interests and encourage interdisciplinary study.

- 8 core Engineering subjects
- 20 Software Engineering major subjects
- 4 elective subjects
- 1 Industry Practice Diploma
- 1 x 2 x 24 weeks internship
Admission Requirements
Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level. Eligibility for admission does not guarantee an offer of a place. Entry to individual engineering majors is subject to ATAR requirements.
Tuition Fees
The indicative total tuition fee for government-supported domestic students is $50,130.00. Fees are reviewed annually and may change.
Inherent Requirements

Assumed Knowledge
Assumed knowledge includes HSC Mathematics Extension 1, Physics, and English Standard. English Advanced is recommended. For the Biomedical, Chemical Process, Civil, and Civil and Environmental Engineering majors, Chemistry is recommended. For the Software Engineering major, a sound knowledge of the fundamentals of programming is recommended.

The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice, majoring in Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Data Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Flexible Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or Software Engineering is fully accredited by Engineers Australia at the level of Professional Engineer and is recognized internationally by signatories to the Washington Accord.
