Program Overview
Diploma in Innovation
The Diploma in Innovation at UTS equips students with innovation capabilities and entrepreneurial skills, supporting personal growth and preparing them to be future change makers. This program is exclusive to UTS and all UTS undergraduates can enroll, excluding Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation students. The Diploma in Innovation runs alongside a degree, incorporating international best practices and expert guests, and fosters practical skills for sectoral and societal change.
Overview
The program supports students in developing innovation capabilities and entrepreneurial skills, with a focus on creative problem-solving that complements their main field of study. As a graduate, students will be able to creatively integrate ideas across professions and be an inventor of the future. The diploma enhances professional networks and helps students stand out.
Notes
The Diploma in Innovation is not offered as a stand-alone degree and can only be undertaken alongside a UTS undergraduate bachelor's degree.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, graduates will be able to:
- Analyse and synthesise diverse perspectives and information to construct a holistic understanding of complex situations.
- Evaluate, integrate and apply various methods to navigate and gain insights into complex challenges and systems.
- Employ creative intelligence and methods to identify opportunities for innovative problem-solving and transformative outcomes.
- Develop and refine proposals through co-design and iterative processes to test ideas and learn about system dynamics and constraints.
- Engage professionally with stakeholders and apply ethical and intellectual positions to drive sustainable and entrepreneurial innovation in a collaborative manner.
- Critically analyse Indigenous contexts across business innovation to inform professional capability and practices to work effectively with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.
Structure
Students must complete 48 credit points made up of 32 credit points of compulsory subjects and 16 credit points of electives (each 8 credit points).
