The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) offers a Master of Strategic Communication program, which will be phased out and discontinued from 2025.


Program Overview

Students enrolled in the program will need to complete their subjects by the last date of offer and complete their degree by Spring 2026. A subject availability table is provided to help students plan their 2025 enrolment.

  • Do I have to move to the new course? No, students can remain in their current course and graduate as per the normal process. However, some subjects from the new course may be available, and students can view changes on the subject availability table.
  • Can I choose an elective from another faculty? Yes, but students must submit an eRequest to seek approval from the School, ensuring the elective is an 8-credit-point, postgraduate-level subject.
  • Can I graduate earlier with a Graduate Diploma? Yes, students enrolled in the Master's course can apply to graduate earlier with a Graduate Diploma, which is articulated to this course. They should apply for a course transfer (graduating) within the stated deadlines.
  • What if I can't complete my course by the specified deadline? Students who have not completed the course by the phasing out deadline will be managed on a case-by-case basis by a School Responsible Academic Officer (RAO), who will provide advice on alternative arrangements.
  • Can I apply to undertake concurrent study at another institution? Yes, current UTS students may be eligible to apply for concurrent study at another institution or a non-UTS Global Exchange or UTS Global Short Programs partner for academic credit within their UTS degree.
