Academic English is the language students are required to understand and produce at university, which has special features that differentiate it from language used in other contexts.

Program Requirements

Postgraduate or undergraduate coursework students who have been identified as benefiting from developing their academic language skills are strongly encouraged to undertake Academic English: Communication Fundamentals as an elective.

Program Structure

• Academic English: Communication Fundamentals is available as an elective.
  • The course is worth 8cp or 6cp.

Eligibility

• Students who are identified as benefiting from developing their academic language skills are eligible to undertake the program.
