Military Science (MILI) Program

The Military Science (MILI) program at Rice University is designed to provide students with leadership training, military instruction, and physical fitness development. The program offers a range of courses, from introductory physical fitness and leadership to advanced leadership and command.

• MILI 106: Intermediate Physical Fitness
  • Description: Physically demanding course that develops skills through team competition, including land navigation, assembly/disassembly of weapons, and tactics.

• MILI 109: Introduction to Physical Fitness
  • Description: Open to all students, utilizing Army fitness techniques to develop strength, flexibility, and endurance, and self-confidence through leadership training and physical activities.

• MILI 121: Introduction to Leadership
  • Description: Principles of effective leadership and reinforcement of self-confidence through participation in physically and mentally challenging training with upper-division ROTC students.
