The Museum Studies Certificate Program requires four courses, each worth three credits, totaling twelve credit hours. This program has an option to integrate with the MALS program, where three Museum Studies courses, equivalent to nine credits, can be accepted as electives.

Program Requirements

• The program consists of four courses, each valued at three credits.
  • Under the MALS/Museum Studies option, students can use three Museum Studies courses as electives.
• A key requirement for the Museum Studies Certificate is the completion of MSST 804 Museum Internship, which carries three credits and involves 350 hours of internship work.
  • For students enrolled in the MALS program, MSST 804 must be taken as an overload.

Integration with MALS Program

The Museum Studies Certificate can be integrated with the MALS program, allowing for a more comprehensive educational experience. This integration enables students to apply their Museum Studies courses towards their MALS degree, enhancing their academic and professional portfolio.
