Bachelor's Programme in Business and Economics

The Bachelor's Programme in Business and Economics is a three-year program offered by the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg. The program is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of business and economic realities, as well as the opportunity to specialize in a specific area.

Programme Structure and Content

The program consists of 180 credits (ECTS) and is taught in English. The first introductory phase combines basic courses in business administration, economics, statistics, and commercial law. In the second phase, students select their main field of study: business administration, economics, or financial economics. During the fifth semester, students can study at one of the school's excellent partner universities around the world or take elective courses at the school or other universities in Sweden.

Prerequisites and Selection

The general entrance requirements for university studies and the Swedish upper secondary courses English 6, Mathematics 3b or 3c, and Social studies 1b or 1a1 + 1a2 are required. Selection is based on the average grade from upper-secondary school (allocated to 66% of seats) and the Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test (SweSAT) (allocated to 34% of seats).

Tuition Fees

The full education cost is 282,060 SEK for the 2025 program and 288,000 SEK for the 2026 program. The first payment is 47,010 SEK for the 2025 program and 48,000 SEK for the 2026 program. No fees are charged for EU and EEA citizens, Swedish residence permit holders, and exchange students.

After Graduation

After completing the program, students will hold the Degree of Bachelor of Science, which specifies their main field of study. They will be eligible for advanced-level studies, both in Sweden and abroad. Many students continue to study on one of the school's nine specialized master's programs. The degree offers many different career opportunities, and several students receive jobs before they graduate.
