Course Content

The course includes individual singing lessons and musical interpretation for roles and audition repertoire with coaches from both the Academy of Music and Drama and the Göteborg Opera. Students work individually with role interpretation with an opera director and have group lessons in dance and movement. The course also includes participation in masterclasses and potentially being offered a role in one of the academy's opera productions.

Examination

The course is examined through a public staged concert or in an opera production.

About the Course

Students will have the opportunity to work with coaches from the Academy of Music and Drama and the Göteborg Opera, as well as an opera director. The course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in opera, including singing, musical interpretation, and characterization.

Prerequisites and Selection

Selection

Eligible applicants will be called to an audition after the last application date, on which the selection is based. Ranking is done after assessed vocal skills.

The Academy of Music and Drama operates from four locations in Gothenburg: Eklandagatan 86, Åvägen 24 (Brewhouse), Vasagatan 50 (HDK-Valand), and Triörgatan 1 (Andra stället).
