Program Content

The program focuses on vocal training, scenic interpretation, and movement. Students study in an international environment and participate in at least one scenic project per academic year. Program Description

The opera education in G—teborg is for those who want to be challenged and developed vocally, scenically, and physically. The education focuses on vocal development together with qualified education in acting and movement all to make you well-prepared for professional life. With a small number of students per year, the opera program is an individually adapted education. As a student, you have unique opportunities to apply for a large number of scholarships.


International Environment

At the H—gskolan f—r scen och musik in G—teborg, you are part of an environment with master's education in both opera and music with students from all over the world. The bachelor's program in opera is also open to international applicants. This means that parts of the education may be given in English, and there is an active network of internationally active guest teachers.


Artist in Residence

From the autumn of 2024, the world artist Anne Sofie von Otter is an artist in residence and connected to the opera education.

Degree

The education leads to an artistic bachelor's degree in opera, 180 higher education credits. As a student, you are prepared for work in opera productions. You also become eligible for the master's program in opera at the H—gskolan f—r scen och musik.

Studier Utomlands

The education has a strong international connection both through international guest teachers and through our own teachers who are also internationally active. During the education, you have the opportunity to make several study trips in Europe and participate in collaborations with orchestras and networks outside the school.


You as a student also have the opportunity to apply for an exchange semester at one of the university's partner universities for semester 3 or 4.
