Program Structure

The program consists of:

• Subject studies (150 credits): This part of the program deepens the student's knowledge in the subject area and provides knowledge on how students learn and how teachers can teach the subject.

• Educational science core (60 credits): This part of the program provides knowledge in important areas for the student's future profession, such as conflict management, special education, assessment, evaluation, and educational policy.
• Verkshamhetförlagd utbildning, VFU (30 credits): This part of the program includes 20 weeks of practice in a school setting, where the student, with the support of a supervisor, participates in the work of the school and gradually develops the ability to independently teach and take responsibility.

Career Opportunities

The program leads to a basic teacher exam on an advanced level with a focus on teaching in grades 4-6. After completing the program, students are eligible to apply for a teaching license.
