Program Overview

The program prepares students to design, organize, and lead a sustainable digitalization of society. As a system scientist at the University of Gothenburg, students gain a fundamental and broad understanding of the development and introduction of information systems with a focus on business development. The program develops the ability to analyze and influence how humans, digital technology, and organizations interact.

After Studies

The program prepares students for both jobs and further studies. The current labor market situation with a high demand for previous students in digitalization makes it not necessary to study further.


Study Environment

  • Teaching: The teaching takes place in house Patricia on Campus Lindholmen, and students are expected to be physically present at lectures and seminars.

  • Language: The program is mainly taught in Swedish, but in an international environment, which means that parts of the teaching and examination in some cases are given in English, and that large parts of the literature are in English.

Group Work

In addition to teacher-led teaching, students will participate extensively in group work with their classmates in project form and also be responsible for independent studies.


Digital Tools

In their studies, students will use a range of digital tools, generative AI, programming tools, and digital infrastructures to support their learning.


Location

The department is located in the middle of Sweden's leading technology center, Lindholmen Science Park in central Gothenburg.


Studies Abroad

During the third year, there are elective courses corresponding to 30 hp where students have the opportunity to apply for exchange studies in Europe or other parts of the world.
