Program Content

The program provides students with the opportunity to develop their didactic knowledge, both practically and theoretically. Students will increase their ability to develop and analyze teaching, as well as lead school development on a scientific basis. The program includes common parts such as didactics as a science, the history of didactics, learning theories, and their consequences for teaching, methods for developing teaching, grading, and assessment, as well as scientific theory.


Specialization in Sports and Health

The Master Program in Didactics with a specialization in Sports and Health provides students with in-depth knowledge of sports didactics. Students will read and discuss current sports didactic research that highlights various aspects of teaching in the sports subject. The didactic questions of what, why, and how are important. What should be learned, why it is important, and how teaching can be carried out and assessed.


Eligibility and Selection

  • Eligibility: A teacher's degree of at least 120 credits/180 hp or a bachelor's degree of at least 180 hp in educational sciences, or equivalent.
  • Selection: Higher education credits, maximum 165 hp.

After the Studies

The program leads to a master's degree in subject didactics with a specialization in sports and health. Studying on the master's program means that you develop in your role as a teacher and it provides a good basis for work as, for example, a first teacher or development leader. The program also provides a basis for further studies at the research level, for example, in the research subjects of subject didactics or educational work.


Studies

  • Teaching: The program is given at half speed over four years with meetings every other Tuesday.
  • Location: Some meetings are on campus at Pedagogen in Göteborg, while others are digital.
